SATURDAY DANCE SCHEDULE- 6:15 set up, 6:30 small group practice, Main Dance 7:00-9:00, clean up and reset help needed and appreciated!

2023 Schedule for January – March

Saturday Dances 2023: March 11 & 25

PARKING at dances is free for dancers. Please park near the gym door towards the far end of the parking lot. You are welcome to park early and enjoy the beautiful downtown, perhaps dine at one of the many local restaurants.
DONATIONS
We place a jar on the table for optional, suggested donations of $5 per person. We don’t want anyone to miss dancing for lack of funds. Expenses include, operating the website, books, music, sound equipment, utilities, printing, supplies, etc.

Dancing

We dance with lively joy and dreamy elegance, and lots in between. If you think you can't dance, we'd love to change your mind. Our form of dancing is a gateway to many other forms. No need to bring a partner, we provide partners when wanted. We use patterns of movement rather than fancy steps but you're free to use fancy steps too. Do bring comfy shoes that let your feet pivot easily but won't be so slippery that you lose control. We're dancing together rather than just as couples. We enjoy an exciting range from contemporary to historic dances. We delight in sharing these forms of dance with new people and hope to welcome you at a dance soon.

NEW DANCES FOR THOSE in ISOLATION Dancing at home, alone or not? Some from our greater dance community have written dances for such a time as this and have generously given permission to share them here. If your musical selections are limited, just try what you've got that may work. If you find good fits, please let me know.

Events, Safety, Refreshments, and More . . .

2023 Safety, Details, and Upcoming Events:

SAFETY: Please use your own best judgement about what you feel comfortable and safe doing. You are always free to step out or adapt any movement in the dance to make sure that you don't injure yourself or others, and feel comfortable. We want you to have a good time in safety. Because we're not health experts we have to trust your judgement. Please let the caller know if you have questions or special circumstances. For example, some people get dizzy easily and avoid doing spins or turns. If you may have a contagious illness, we trust you will not share it at a dance, and we're thankful that that is what you all seem to do!

REFRESHMENTS
For our regular dances, we offer savory and sweet finger food, and ice water. Please take a turn bringing something to share and bring your own cup, if you can. We provide cups for those who can't. We also provide pens so you can put your name on your cup to keep track of it.

NAME TAGS
Name tags are very helpful so we provide them, please bring your own if you have one.

We're part of a worldwide passion for moving to music. Our group was founded in 2005. We have people of many types and ages who love music and the variety of ways it moves us to express ourselves and enjoy being together.
